Australian Tourist Dies at Bali’s Famous T-Rex Cliff as Visitors Warn of Dangerous Paths

A trip to one of Bali’s most photographed tourist destinations ended in tragedy after a 30-year-old Australian woman died following a fall at Kelingking Beach on Nusa Penida. The dramatic cliff formation, famous for its dinosaur-like shape and sweeping ocean views, attracts thousands of visitors each year, but its steep paths have long worried travelers.

According to local search-and-rescue officials, the woman had been walking near a narrow cliffside route when she slipped and fell roughly 80 metres into a ravine. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched, but the difficult terrain and rough sea conditions made the response challenging. As news of the tragedy spread, past warnings from tourists began resurfacing online. Many said the same thing: the spectacular viewpoint may be beautiful, but the descent below it can become dangerously unforgiving.
